...Once upon a time...
Harvest Church
Today we are known as a non-denominational church, but this was not always the case. Our church has changed quite a bit over the years. Take a moment to read about our history...

Mennonite Roots...
Several families with an Amish background held our very first service all the way back in November 1913. After a few years of meetings, Lakeview Mennonite Church was founded in July 1916. In 1969 a new church building was built in which we still meet to worship Jesus today. Over the years we were blessed with devoted and faithful pastors. Fred Kanagy ( Pictured Bottom with wife Lila ) and Cleo Yoder ( Picture top with wife Charlene ) were two of the pastors that served at Lakeview Mennonite Church and are still a part of our congregation to this day.
Winds of Change...
Over the last thirty years, more and more families and members of our church began to long for change. The Mennonite traditions became burdensome to some and many desired to see a non-denominational approach to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After leaving the Mennonite conference years ago, Lakeview Mennonite Church officially became a non-denominational church in 2023 and shortly after, changed the name to Harvest Church. With the new name came a new focus: to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community, our state, our nation and to the ends of the world like never before. Without the badge of a denomination, our church is open to reach people from all walks of life.
